HMC To Manage New CCH

Following a German nationwide call for tenders, the Hamburg-based trade show operator Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH (HMC) has been awarded the contract to manage the new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg. This means that HMC will continue to run the international convention center, which has been undergoing comprehensive remodeling since January 2017. The contract between the municipal owner of the complex, CCH Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG, and HMC has a 25-year term.

“We are very pleased we were able to present a convincing concept that allows us to continue managing the CCH in future years”, said Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO, Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH. “With its wide range of functional options, the new CCH will set new standards and be among Europe’s top convention centers. Backed by decades of experience in the convention business, we will add new chapters to the CCH success story.”

The new CCH will further enhance the attractiveness of Hamburg as a business hub. With 12,000 sqm of exhibition space, 12,000 sqm of foyer space and 12,000 seats in up to 50 halls and rooms, the new CCH will be an ideal venue for the varying requirements of today's conventions and events. Situated in the heart of the city, the modernized CCH will be a world-class convention center. It is scheduled to reopen in 2019.
